I was planning on making this dress for the girls this summer... well summer turned into Fall... oh well, I had this fall-ish fabric in my stash so why not? We live in California after all... And this Fall was HOT! Avy go a lot of wear out of it, and I was going to take some pictures... but I kept putting it off, and then it turned cold. And I thought my chance was gone.
But then last week we got some freakishly warm 80 degree temps! So I made her put it on when we took her sister to horse-riding and finally got some decent pics to share with you! We paired this dress with Avy's boots that we found at walmart for $15! She loves them and wears them all the time! Perfect for plowing through horse poop LOL!

And look... we found a horse her size! This little sweetie is named Mr. Brown. His a baby pony and so stinkin CUTE!!! Not only did she want to ride him so badly, she really wanted to take him home with us! LOL! So nice that she will get to visit him again next week.
This is the pattern I used for the dress. I've had it for about 6 years, so not sure you can still buy it, I have to say is REALLY easy once you figure out how to do the neckline with interfacing. After a few trials and errors, I got it right and it was very rewarding. Avila was SO HAPPY! You can see how much potential the pattern has with all the different variations, not to mention all the embellishments you could add... oh... if I only had the time!
With this success I then attempted to make the girls' outfits for our family Christmas portraits this year. It was so much easier to put together the girls outfits by making them.
Can't wait to share them with you! Here's one more shot from the front.
