[Valentines Day 2012!]

Have a wonderful Valentines day! I hope you're sharing it with someone special. 

The girls and I are going to surprise daddy with an awesome dinner tonight and then we're going to watch a movie after the girls go to bed. I rented The Debt from redbox.. I know, not really a romance but we both really wanted to see this one. 

Avila's school let them take a break from uniforms today and allowed them to wear red and pink. I pulled out everything she had in red or pink and this is the outfit she put together. Such a fashionista!! These leg warmers were actually adult knee high socks I got from the dollar tree, we just cut off the feets! Way cuter!

And since she got ready so early we were actually able to take some pics before she left  for school.

The necklace is one that we made as a test for the craft we will be doing at her upcoming birthday party.

[Avila's first dance competition]

What a busy month! This morning we all got up early and spent the morning at UC Davis at the Spotlight 2012 dance cup. It was exciting and nerve racking since its Avila's very first time competing. Jason, Dean, Diane, Alannah and I were all there to support our little dancing queen!

Tap dancing to "Crazy little thing called Love" by Dwight Yoakam, their team of 11 dancers aged between 7-8 years old took it all the way to the top!

They knocked it out of the ballpark! They received a Diamond award for having the highest scores, here is Avila accepting the award for her team!

They also won the "Outstanding Technical Skill" award, here is Madeline accepting the award for the team.

And here is the whole team accepting the award for Overall Petite Divsion Winners! Woohoo!! When they announced the winners, instead of saying the name of the team, they played their song, and when the music started I thought my heart was going to pop! For the rest of my life whenever I hear this song I will always remember this moment. Proud doesn't even begin to describe the feeling Jason and I felt as we watched them run out to get their trophy! 

Ms. Robin is the BEST teacher EVER! Her choreography is amazing! And the girls adore her!

[sleeping beauty...]

Just wanted to share this real quick... this morning I went in to wake up the kids, and this is what I saw... a sweet little angel... I wonder what she was dreaming about? I was tempted to just let her sleep a little longer. So I went to get the camera, and took these, the camera shutter sounds woke her up only after a few frames. Love her!!

February! Wow.... these last few weeks have the warmest winter we've ever had! So warm and sunny. I LOVED LOVED it! Just cool enough some days to wear a scarf and boots, but not rainy and dreary cold that you don't want to go outside. Anyways... I can't even believe where January went! Didn't get HALF the things I needed to get done.. but here we are in February! A leap year month this year, it always reminds me how close my daughter came to being a Feb 29th baby! Heheh... she celebrates her 8th birthday this month! Wow! And talk about I-KIDS! She's amazing, can log in and use passwords, surf the net and youtube better than her grandparents! Ha! I do not know how we ever were able to survive childhood without an ipod or DS. But sometimes I sure wish for the good old days! Pick up this month's issue to read the awesome article on 'wired kids', and check out this cutie in her big full page picture on page 18!

Words cannot express how proud I am of her, and how my heart just wants to burst out of my chest when I see her dance, I can see the passion and how naturally talented she is, I can't stop smiling the whole time! Love her to pieces! I never got a chance to be a ballerina, but I can't imagine it would have been as fun as seeing your daughter as one! Thanks for stopping in...
